Pet-friendly: Not sure who loves the policy more -- Claire and I, or Mazie and Gaston. Regardless, it's a real treat to have the fur babies with us while we browse and shop. Holiday decor: The seasonal displays are always bountiful, particularly around the fall and winter months. Their selection of Old World Christmas Ornaments is unmatched in the Portland-metro area. Traffic congestion: The parking lot and entry design create terrible gridlock. Spring and fall are the worst, which is, ironically, Al's meat and potato season. The site layout was poorly planned for high-volume traffic. Draconian return policy: The rules regarding returns are incredibly rigid and customer-unfriendly. Short timeframe, restocking fees, SOOL on clearance items. "Boo!" to the leadership team for their greed on this one. Margin over mission for sure. Staff: Rarely enough employees on the floor. When you do find someone, they lack basic retail experience and general plant knowledge. It is quite frustrating to ask for assistance only to find a staffer who doesn't even know how much water a simple succulent needs.

The ferns I purchased were gigantic and just gorgeous. They have a great selection and variety of plants. Some of the more unique bulbs were sold out and they have lovely home decor. Many decorative pots, candles and indoor plants. The set up of the outdoor patios gave great ideas and visions for the garden or backyard. The variety of roses and colors were hard to choose from. May have missed the oversized pots but I enjoyed walking around seeing everything from fruit trees to bulbs to seasonal flowers. Every time I come here I know the plants are quality and visually pleasing. Have not had any plants with any issues from there.

Full of everything! Tons of different plants, well organized. Great selection of pots & outdoor accessories. Wide selection of furniture as well! Inside there's women's clothing & accessories, home decor, and a wine bar! Nobody says Al's is a great price, but they do have GREAT stuff

What a lovely, lovely garden center. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is warm and peaceful especially now since the Christmas decorations are out. The cafe, Sips is such a great little cafe. You can get a latte and a delicious scone and sit by the fireplace. It's so relaxing. I can't say enough about it except you must go and experience Al's garden center for yourself.

A friend told me if you ever need a lift to your spirits, go to Al's Garden. She wasn't wrong. Being surrounded by garden joy does that every time I visit! Plus the friendly, knowledgeable staff are so helpful with my questions. Thank you, Al's!
